Interlingue, formerly Occidental, is an international auxiliary language created by Edgar de Wahl and published in 1922.

Occidental is the easiest language to learn due to its minimal and regular grammar, and to its international world formation.

Grammar

  • Infinitives: They end in -r.
  • Adjectives: Non compulsory ending in -i.
  • Adverbs: They finish by -men.
  • Present of the verbs: Just the root.
  • Past: It ends in -t.
  • Present perfect: With ha-r + the infinitive.
  • Future: Va + infinitive
  • Conditional: Vell + infinitive
  • Imperative: Ples + infinitive or just the infinitive
  • Present participle -nt
  • Past Participle -t
  • Gerundive: -nte
  • Masculine: -o
  • Feminin: -e
  • Plural (e)s

Literature The main literary texts in Occidental appeared in Cosmoglotta. There were also some works, both original and translated, published in Interlingue.
