Vicente Costalago[redacter fonte]

Hi Styyx

You have deleted the article about Vicente Costalago, the main author in the history of the language, from the Wikipedia in Interlingue, without consulting anybody, not even taking into account the discussions thet happened regarding that topic here. I haven't seen you writing on the Wikipedia yet you feel you have the right to delete an article deeply related to this language and community without taking into account the discussion nor even talking to any person working here. I would like to ask you to take a look at the discussion and take the article back. I already said at the Wikimedia discussion that it makes sense to keep the article in the auxlangs that Vicente Costalago has written in (Lingua Franca Nova, Interlingua and Interlingue) because his one of the few publishing in those languages so it is important for that community. Thank you for your understanding. Caro de Segeda (discussion) 13:15, 4 decembre 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Caro de Segeda. It's not an action I will personally take since I do stand by the deletion and its reasoning (cross-wiki spam). However, a local admin—Mithridates—is allowed to undo the deletion and restore it regardless of what my opinion is. Styyx (discussion) 13:33, 4 decembre 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And will you delete it again once it is restored? Caro de Segeda (discussion) 14:54, 4 decembre 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No because if Mithridates restored it, it would mean that a local admin objected the use of my global tools. Styyx (discussion) 14:55, 4 decembre 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for clarifying it. Caro de Segeda (discussion) 14:57, 4 decembre 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Styyx,
Thank you for clarifying - wanted to see whether global tools surpassed my authority as a sysop. I will be restoring the page. IMO pages on the author are notable in the microcosm of the smaller auxiliary languages in which he has published books, but not past there. (So will be sure that they do not spread past that small corner of Wikipedia)

Yeah, local sysops have authority over global ones, as expained in the global rights policy on Meta. The problem with this article is that it was cross-wiki created in a short time in 55 languages by the same user, only a small number of which remain now. That led me to delete this as non-notable spam on a few wikis with GS opt-in, but if you as a local sysop say that the subject is notable based on iewiki policy, then I have respect your decision. Styyx (discussion) 15:25, 4 decembre 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think that was the right decision. A few small auxiliary language Wikipedias is definitely the extent of his notability. Mithridates (discussion) 16:52, 4 decembre 2022 (UTC)[reply]
